Answer :I had the same situation and i got the money back automatically. Unconfirmed waitlisted tickets are refunded. Below if the official information from irctc.co.in \"Full waitlist tickets the tickets in which on one PNR, all the passengers are on waitlist PNRs are dropped from the reservation charts. Such passengers are not required to send online request for cancellation. Tickets will be cancelled automatically and money will be refunded in respective account electronically.\" So you will get the money back excluding the transaction charges
Answer :Yes. For refund of tatkal unconfirmed ticket are also eligible. But now tatkal tickets are issued only one day in advance and under this context whether they will be issuing tatkal unconfirmed ticket--I am not sure. if they issue and remains unconfirmed yes refund will be made as per rules.
